Consolidations (Desktop)

What it is: Draftworx Desktop supports the preparation of consolidated Annual Financial Statements by combining multiple entity trial balances into a single set of financial statements.

What it's for

Consolidations are used when a group of entities (a parent and its subsidiaries) needs to report as a single economic unit. Rather than preparing each entity's financials separately, the user can bring together the relevant balances to produce group-level statements.

How to do it

The detailed Desktop walkthrough is a private Scribe guide (the publisher requires a Scribe sign-in to view it), so its step text could not be captured here. Open the HelpJuice article below while signed in to follow it.

The consolidation workflow is the same in concept across both products — see Consolidations (Cloud) for the captured step-by-step (set each entity's holding type, import/aggregate the subsidiary trial balances, refresh opening balances, and translate any foreign-currency subsidiaries). On Desktop the group trial balance is brought in via Importing the Consolidated Trial Balance from Excel (Desktop).
